What should I record first?
Note when particles appear, whether the concern is before or after existing equipment and whether a pressure change accompanies it. Sediment is not the same as dissolved hardness, and clear water is not proof that a health-related concern has been addressed.
What changes the recommendation?
Compare the stated particle-size rating, nominal versus absolute claims, flow and pressure drop, holding capacity and cartridge or backwash requirements. A very fine cartridge can create frequent service or a restriction if chosen without considering the incoming load.
What should the service scope include?
Ask how the cause will be investigated, where the filter belongs in the sequence and what signals replacement or cleaning. For a private well, keep the testing plan separate; capturing particles does not establish microbial safety.
Apply the correct source evidence
For a Jupiter Farms household well, use property-specific sampling. Palm Beach County well-program guidance does not supply a universal chemistry result, and a Jupiter municipal report cannot characterize a private well. See the Jupiter Farms source guide before applying a report or selecting a treatment goal.
Review EPA private-well guidance for the appropriate source boundary. Source review: October 4, 2026. This guide provides decision questions; equipment selection and any safety-related interpretation require appropriate measurements and qualified advice.
